Got your attention, didn’t I? My dear husband planned a date night last weekend the gist was, “hey let’s go to a place called Mad Lab & watch full frontal nudity.” My first thought was a bit negative, which b.t.w. I kept to myself, but then I noticed the article was from Columbus 614 Now and figured there had to be more to it. And plus there were Ewoks involved.
” I was pleasantly surprised… I laughed more that evening then I have in a real long time.”
We got to the Mad Lab, which upon appearance still looked like we might be heading into a seedy situation, but once inside everything appeared normal. My first thought was everyone looks pretty normal. We got our $15 tickets two Cheryl’s cookies for dessert, walked inside the theater (which seats about 50 people) and took our seats.
“FULL FRONTAL NUDITY DERIVES ITS NAME FROM THE IDEA THAT PERFORMING WITHOUT A SCRIPT LEAVES ONE FEELING EXPOSED ON STAGE AS IF NAKED.”
The premise of the show, “Date Night” is to get a couple, to volunteer and come down to the stage. Then willingly spill intimate details (crazier the better) of how they met, proposed if they are married, current life details and my personal favorite pet peeves. Then the FFN casts acts out their relationship for the couple and everyone in the audience. They acted out three scenarios and the second one was our favorite. Their story started off when they first met at a party, while in college and they were the only ones at the party not snorting cocaine. The actors had a good time with that tidbit of information.
The night was an unexpected, wonderful and a comical experience. I am so glad I trusted my adventurous husband.
